Every folder is a room: mkdir and cd
Your computer is a building full of rooms. Type cd to see which one you are in, and mkdir to build a new one. It prints nothing on success.

Your computer is a building full of rooms. Every folder is a room, and the terminal is always standing in one of them.
Type c d on its own and press enter. It tells you which room you are standing in right now.
Type m k d i r, a space, and a name. m k d i r means make directory. I am going to build one called education center.
It will look like nothing happened. That is what success looks like here. The terminal only speaks up when something goes wrong.
Now type c d, a space, and the same name. You just walked in.
Type c d on its own again. The address ends with your new room.
Next time, we open the file manager and find the room you just built.
That is your terminal tip for today.
